From the outside it does not seem even a bar, but when you go in, it shows a place full of life, without great care in decorating or other details. The family that runs the Avila strives to offer good home cooking accompanied by great local wines. The bar is always full, from workers taking daily menus or ladies in fur coats holding glasses of wine, to young people with dreadlocks and dogs at the door. You can have breakfast, lunch, dinner or simply enjoy delicious “tapas” with your drink (as we are in Granada, it is for free). No doubt the star dish is the grilled ham or “jamón asado”. Regular customers are used to order, asadura, manitas de cerdo, cazón en adobo, migas, ensaladilla… It is one of those places that does need promotion to get clients, just try their tapas and you will return. To our regret, it does not open on Saturday evenings and Sundays.
